Research
The main areas of the NanoCarbon Group‘s interest cover synthesis and application-oriented physicochemical modifications of carbon nanomaterials.
Synthesis of sp2–carbon nanoallotropes, i.e. carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene, graphenoids, and carbon quantum dots (CQDs), comprises mainly c-CVD processing and wet-chemistry methods while their chemistry is inspired by organic chemistry reactions. Both syntheses of the pre-defined from 0- to 3D-nanoparticles and their modifications are designed to yield nanomaterials exhibiting enhanced mechanical, electrical, thermal, electromagnetic, catalytic, optical, and biological properties.
The natural recipients of our solutions are mainly chemical, civil/military, electrical, and mechanical engineering as well as (bio)medicine. The representative examples of our achievements constitute superactive nanobiocatalysts, products for stealth technology, heat-transfer nanofluids, heat storage phase change nanomaterials, conductive inks/pastes for textronics, polymer nanocomposites, and magnetic drug delivery systems.
NanoCarbonGroup: Innovations in Carbon Nanotube Technology
NanoCarbonGroup.com is an innovative spin-off specializing in advanced technologies exploring carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The company has designed and developed a breakthrough technology that is revolutionizing electrocardiography, including a simultaneous, long-term recording of pregnant mother’s ECG and fetus’s ECG (CTG).

The company’s main product is the textronic ECG CardioGuard™ T-shirt using ultra-long CNTs. The technology offers a unique integration of CNTs with various textiles on a global scale, including screen printing. Owing to CNTs, the shirt is lightweight, flexible and comfortable, which means that users can wear it comfortably in any conditions. Ultra-long CNTs provide high electrical conductivity and durability. At the same time, screen printing allows for precise implementation of CNTs in textiles creating flexible, but durable sensors. CardioGuard™ is compatible with existing ECG systems on the market enabling monitoring of the diagnostic quality signal. The users can use the T-shirt in conjunction with existing equipment, which significantly lowers the barriers to entry and increases the potential customer base.
Main applications of CardioGuard™ systems
Medical
Monitoring patients’ heart activity continuously, regardless of their state. This is particularly useful for pregnant women and their children, also during Holter diagnostics, i.e., long-term recording.
Sports
Athletes can monitor their heart parameters during training, allowing for optimization of training programs and prevention of overtraining.
Fitness
Recreational users can monitor their health during daily activities, which promotes a healthier lifestyle.
Services
The shirt can be used in other fields where ECG monitoring in dynamic conditions is essential, including occupations that risk health and life.
